To celebrate the two kids and chapter 1.10, Haylie decided to remodel the house a bit. They added an outhouse, where Thornton could practise his painting. Thornton was getting pretty old but he rose as the outhouse was built, he had always wanted to paint, but never had the time with his busy workschedule, but now that he was older they had cut down his workhours.
Collin decided that it was time for him to rock a new look, he wanted something plain and simple.
Collin would offten try to chat up his mother while Aimee was busy with something. He loved his mother with all his heart. But now that he was a kid he started to wonder about his absent dad. Why was he always sneaking away. Why didn't he want Collin and his sister?
Collin was soon enough starting in school. Because the family lived a bit on the outskirts of town the schoolbus always picked up Collin first. With Collin starting in school, it was time for Haylie to go back to work. She had missed an awful lot of time when being on maternity leave. Time that could have gotten her promoted. Thornton had been promoted lots during these years.
Haylie atleast made sure to give Aimee a proper nanny, the nanny was a kid of one of Haylies workcollegues. She knew that she was a good girl that was going to care for Aimee.
Once Haylie got back to work her boss was so happy to see her again that he gave Haylie a promotion that same day. Haylie was sure happy for being back to work but felt that she was neglecting her kids, they needed her and Thornton didn't care for them, could she handle being a careerwoman and a mother at the same time?
Collin was excelling at school he got straight A's from the first day, you could really see the genius in him. But he didn't have many friends. He just went to school, took care of buisness and went home to do his homework.
One day the babysitter had to run home for a private errand, she ran out to Thorntons studio in the garden and told him that she would be back again tomorrow. Thornton had no choise but to care for Aimee. He never told Haylie about this, just like he had once done with Collin.
Haylie soon got another promotion right before the weekend, the weekend when she was giong to become and elder. She felt ok with it but she hadn't told anyone in the family, she felt like she already was the center of attention, so she didn't even tell them about her promotions.
One day they all had breakfast together, usually Thornton went out of bed after Haylie had left for work and Collin for school, so he didn't have to act kind. But this day was different not only for being the weekend, but also because he wanted to be with his family. He feared that he didn't have much time left to live and wanted to spend this weekend with his family.
Haylie loved the weekend, she could play silly with Collin, teach Aimee to talk and walk, cuddle both of them and play games with them. She really enjoyed her time.
The sunday came earlier than she would have preferred but she felt that she had made the most of the weekend and was at ease. She had even forgotten all about aging up so when she was chatting with Collin she suddenly felt the age rise and turned around to be an elder.
Collin was caught by surprise but he cheered his mother on.
How was life going to be with two elders in the house, was someone going to retire or will they work to the end?
